Peter Island

Peter Island, the largest private island in the BVI, lies four miles southeast of Tortola in the Sir Francis Drake Channel. The Peter Island Resort owns virtually every acre of the 1,200 that comprise this fifth-largest island in the BVI chain. It’s a resort that is always noted among the Caribbean’s finest, and it is impressive. There is a young active crowd there and, while always a favorite honeymoon destination, it has become a popular wedding destination as well. The hotel’s facilities are concentrated on the northeast section of the island and the hub of the resort is the marina on Sprat Bay. The rest of the island has pristine beaches and manicured trails that have been carved by the hotel through the mountainous terrain and secluded coves. You can reach Peter Island only by water or helicopter. The island is a terrific day-trip destination for visits to Tortola and a popular anchorage site as well.
