Foot trails out of Rapolano Terme take you to the Terme di San Giovanni, past the Pieve di San Vittore and along the Ombrone River (five miles), across to Serre di Rapolano and past the necropolis of Poggio Pinci toward Asciano (#4) and up Poggio Capanne (629 m/2,063 feet). The best bike rides, on the other hand, loop the 19 miles through Rigomagno, Calcione and back along the SS438 Lauretana, or take you a panoramic 12 miles through travertine quarries to Serre di Rapolano and Asciano. There’s also horseback riding to enjoy; contact Villa dei Boschi to book yourself a trip.
