Since 1986 when a group of artisans decided to contribute to revitalizing Venice’s Carnival traditions, Ca’ del Sol has been producing elaborate masks and costumes for both Carnival and for the theater. Their master artisans conduct five-day (three hours a day) mask-making workshops where participants are taught a variety of techniques and guided in the development of their own masks. If your plans put you in Venice for Carnival, call ahead to reserve a costume from their large selection of 18th-century costumes (Euro 80-350) or consider purchasing one.
