Some Action Club activities are co-hosted with the Klettergarten Floite, a climbing garden with three climbing routes, including one up the 120-m “Brain Wash” waterfall. Arrange climbing activities directly with the Klettergarten in Ginzling.

For hikers and climbers, there’s no better guide in the Zillertal than Peter Habeler and his Mount Everest mountain sports school. The Mayrhofen native and his friend Reinhold Messner were the first to scale the Mt. Everest summit without the aid of oxygen. Innsbruck remains one of Europe’s most outdoorsy cities,and its adventures span all seasonal sports. In summer, mountain bikers take to over 100 km of designated trails along the Nordkette range, and the new Nordparktrail free-ride run drops 1,040 m between the Seegrube and Hungerburg mountains – a huge hit with technical riders.

Although we’ve stuck mainly to mainstream sights in our coverage of the Oztal, visitors wishing to take part in more adrenaline-pumping activities will find no shortage of company in the Ötztal.
