Casi Paraíso (Nosara,5 rooms, breakfast included, restaurant). This funky tropical wood hotel, whose name translates as “Almost Paradise,” clings to the mountainside along the steep road, about a five-minute walk from the beach. A laid-back Caribbean atmosphere prevails inside and out.
The rooms open onto a large shared porch with big Adirondack chairs and swinging hammocks under its metal roof. Bright artwork on the painted tongue and groove walls. The restaurant is a popular and inexpensive eatery perched on a wooden porch; it serves seafood. Casi Paraíso now offers a sports fishing boat available for charter.
