Agen Travel Guide
Introduction
Agen is a charming little city midway between Bordeaux and Toulouse, famous first and foremost for its prunes and covered market. There's a museum in nearby Granges sur Lot that is dedicated entirely to the prune, with exhibits tracing the colorful history of the fruit, along with a prune maze and demonstrations in preparing prunes in every imaginable way. As for the market, it is held daily in the space across from the tourism office at 107 Boulevard Carnot, with vendors typically selling local delicacies, produce and meats. The town itself is quite pleasant to discover, with Gothic arches, medieval alleys, and a canal and river running through it. But for the most part, there's no denying that Agen is a prime destination for lovers of prunes.
