Villas Playa Sámara (Playa Sámara,62 rooms, air, kitchen, fan, pool, restaurant, breakfast included). The villas here weave back from the wide beach and are stitched along the paths with rows of flowering hibiscus hedges. The red tile-roof villas all feature a kitchenette and sitting area, large bedroom with ample closet space and sliding glass doors that open on a terrace.
They come in three sizes, from duplex to single unit with two bedrooms. The pool is wonderfully large (perhaps the best we found) and has a jacuzzi as well as a wet bar with TV. The palapa-covered restaurant is very appealing and serves excellent food. Ask to see several villas first (they’ll ride you around in a golf cart). Four km/2.5 miles south of town.
