Fontainebleau has a relatively lively nightlife scene compared to most Ile-de-France towns outside Paris, frequented by a large grad-student population. There are about two dozen music bars, cocktail lounges and pubs along the Rue Grande and its side-streets. Three of the more popular nightspots include the chic lounge/bar La Villa, the gay disco bar/club Le Diam’s, with a friendly, mixed clientele, and the British-style beer pub Au Bureau, with regular DJs and live music.
