Ten km/six miles of wide, sandy beach backed by pine woods and sand dunes, the beach extends from the marine resort of Port Camargue to the lagoons and canals of the Petite Camargue. It’s near the Espiguette lighthouse, and dress is optional. Snacks, umbrella and beach chair rentals are available near Les Baronnets parking. Parking is by the hour and can be expensive. The best time to appreciate this beach is early or late in the day and out of season. To get there from Aigues Mortes, take the D979 South toward the small fishing village of Le Grau du Roi. Just before the village, turn left onto a new road, the D62b, towards Port Camargue. After about one km/.6 mile, turn left onto a narrow paved road marked Phare de L’Espiguette. At the lighthouse, look for parking signs.
