Two Belle Époque Greek-style villas with a pool between them overlook the Mediterranean at one of Marseille’s more distinctive hotels. Every room has a terrace with a sea view that looks like a postcard and is equipped with just about the best of everything. Chef Gérald Passédat, who serves unusual seafood seas anemone fritters, oyster nem in his two-star restaurant, is the major draw to this family-owned hotel. It is expensive and exclusive. Expect to spot movie stars, captains of industry, maybe even a few heads of state.
