The village of La Roque d’Antheron, just north of Aix en Provence, is the only place in France where Lipizzaner horses are raised. It has a 12th-century abbey and is connected with the history of the Waldensians, an early Hugenot sect. The campgrounds are large and organized, with entertainment and sports. There are 140 spaces as well as a few bungalows and trailers. The campsite makes a point of highlighting its handicapped facilities. The basic package ranges from euro 10.50 to euro 22 in the high season, tourist tax extra.
