Goethe used to lunch at “Zum Kronprinzen,” Domplatz 17, but neither the building nor the restaurant survived to the present era. However, there are several other options available in the direct vicinity. Almost next door is the Hauptwache, inside a garrison building, which dates from the Prussian period in the late 19th century. This small restaurant offers mainly local dishes with a special emphasis on breakfast during weekends.
