The refreshing local beer, Kölsch, can be enjoyed everywhere, but doing so in one of the traditional breweries is of course particularly pleasing. Früh am Dom recently celebrated its centenary at this location just south of the Dom. It is spread over three floors with slightly different menus – it gets grander and more expensive as you move up in the building. Traditional brewery fare is served in the vaulted cellars and the ground floor, while the upper floor offers more elaborate food, including game. On the street-side terrace, only beer and small snacks are available. The place is hugely popular, making reservations sensible for groups.
