Das Kleinste Haus is a tiny Baroque half-timbered house from the mid-18th century. It is 4.2 m (14 feet) high but only 2.95m(9.7 feet) wide, with a front door of 1.7 m (5½ feet). It has only a front and back wall, using the adjacent houses for sidewalls. The house has three levels, with the largest room being only 10 square m (32 square feet).
In the 1920s, a train conductor lived here with his wife and seven children! The last inhabitant died in 1976, and since then it has been used as a museum. Open hours are daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is Euro 1. Several houses in the vicinity are also pretty small – some have signs in the windows pointing visitors to the real smallest house.
