Forum of Contemporary History (Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig) is devoted to post World War II history, with an outstanding presentation on the former Soviet-occupied zone, the German Democratic Republic (GDR), from its inception until the fall of the Berlin Wall. Other presentations and exhibits are centered around developments in the former East German state since the reunification of the two Germanys and the in 1990.

All presentations are in German, with a few in English as well. Information is also available via email at zfl@hdg.de.
