Scarperia is another good point of departure for walkers, with trails taking you up Monte Verruca (#38, five hours) from nearby Grezzano, up Monte Calvi from Sant’Agata (#42) and onto the GEA (Grande Escursione Appennina trails) and SOFT network at Passo del Giogo di Scarperia. If you don’t want to do it on your own, local environmental trekking guide, Michelangelo Marsili will tailor a walking tour to your ability and time requirements.
