The biggest draw is for ceramics fans, with the Museo Chini in the restored Villa Pecori Giraldi displaying prolific family activity during the Liberty period. If you’ve been inspired by the museum to buy them, the Chini-Pecchioli workshop (Cermaiche Franco Pecchioli, on the Borgo San Lorenzo ring road at the junction with the Via Faentina, 0558-459359) sells home furnishings and decorations in the traditional Chini colors. There’s also a museum of peasant civilization at Grezzano (0558-457197, 16 June-14 Sept, Sat-Sun and holidays, 3-7 pm, rest of year times vary), although its main pull is an attractive one-hour nature trail through the surrounding countryside to a medieval water mill.
