A baptismal font by Bernardo Rossellino, a frescoed Pietà by Masolino, sculptures by Mino da Fiesole and Tino di Camaino and, in the pinacoteca upstairs, two triptychs by Lorenzo Monaco and a small Maestà by Fillipo Lippi – the main reasons to pop in. There are also a couple of panels by local artist Jacopo Carrucci (known as Il Pontormo, 1494-1556), but the best of him can really be seen in the Chiesa di San Michele in his birthplace Pontorme (a well-signposted bike ride away). There you can see a stunning Life of St John the Evangelist and Archangel Michael (around 1518). His house-museum, Casa Natale del Pontormo, is currently under restoration.
