Addition, there’s an easy seven-mile foot excursion through thick maquis to the top of Monte Maggio (671 m/2,200 feet) and two bike rides of interest. The first, a difficult 14-mile loop along CAI trails (Monteriggioni-Abbadia Isola-Riciano-Fioreta-Mandorlo-Monteriggioni) and the second an easier but longer 24-mile journey part-trail and part-road (Monteriggioni-Abbadia Isola-Strove-Scorgiano-Ceppo-Monteriggioni). It takes you past the local horseback-riding center, Club Ippico Senese.
