Once used by Ezzellino da Romano, then by the Carrara and Marcello families, this restored castle was built in different stages from the 11th to 16th centuries. The Castelletto was the earliest part, followed by the Tower of Ezzelino built in the 13th century, then the Palazzo Marcello built in the 15th century. Finally the castle library was built in the 16th century. Tour the castle’s armory, private apartments and medieval kitchen to see period furnishings that help recreate the life of the Middle Ages.
