A prime piece of real estate along the Grand Canal, the Renaissance palace Ca’ Vendramin Calergi was built in the 16th century by Mauro Codussi and served as the home to several noble families. Tour the apartments where Richard Wagner lived (and died in 1883) on Saturday at 10:30 am; call to reserve on Friday, 10 am-noon. Today the palace houses the city’s casino.
