A wooden drawbridge next to the Columbus monument links the port promenade to the Moll d’Espanya and the recreational and commercial complex of Maremàgnum, built for the 1992 Olympic games. In and around this three-story monstrosity are bars and discos, restaurants, open-air cafés, shops, a standard and IMAX theater and L’Aquàrium with an 80-m (262-foot) undersea tunnel and lots of sharks, rays and colorful fishies.
