The Hotel Xabier is near the Castillo de Javier (open 9 am-1 pm and 4-7 pm), outside of Sangüesa. The Castillo is renowned as the birthplace of Saint Francis Xavier who, along with Saint Ignatius, founded the Jesuit order. The hotel rooms are classically styled, a little medieval, but not really all that old by Spanish standards. The rooms are OK, but the restaurant’s food is not (just say no to callos).
