Spectacular, 203-acre coastal park, which includes in it Kilauea Point, the northernmost point on the main Hawaiian islands. The refuge is a nesting colony for endangered seabirds, including red-footed boobies, wedge-tailed shearwaters, laysan albatross and great frigate birds, all of which can be seen here, along the rugged coastline. Also, in the winter and spring months, you can see various marine life here, just off the coast, including whales, dolphins, seals and sea turtles. At Kilauea Point there is also an old lighthouse, the Kilauea Lighthouse, built in 1913, and still in operation.
