Other properties on the road uphill include Montaña de Fuego and Hotel Arenal Paraíso Montaña was the first of these side-by-side hilltop casita hotels, both owned by the same family. They offer large simple cabins, a glass porch restaurant at Montaña and unobstructed volcano views. Arenal Paraíso is the newer and least expensive of the two, with smaller wooden cabins and decks.
