Villa Caletas (pool, 2 restaurants, cabin-suites, air, cable) bills itself as “close to heaven,” and it is – in more ways than one. The collection of villas are some of the most elegant accommodations and grounds in Costa Rica. Part of its heavenly atmosphere comes from the location, capping a high cliff overlooking the Pacific – with sunsets to die for.
The main tropical Victorian mansion features eight beautiful guest rooms and antique-filled public areas. In the manicured gardens are 20 secluded individual villas, a master suite with personal pool, and a grand overhanging infinity pool.
Perfect for honeymooners, perfect for us. Excellent food and big bar drinks. It’s very hard to leave this hilltop sanctuary. Look for the private road on the right, about two km/1.25 miles south of Punta Leona.
