Châteaux de Pau was the birthplace of the illustrious Henry IV. It is a wonderful example of early medieval architecture. The salle des cent couverts or room of a hundred covers, features a glorious collection of wall tapestries. Open daily from June 15 to September 15, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm and 1:30 to 5:45 pm, April through June 14, 9:30 to 11:45 am and 2 to 5 pm; November through March, 9:30 to 11:45 am and 2 to 4:15 pm. Entry costs euro 4.50 for adults and free for those under 17.
