Experienced climbers and mountaineers are attracted to the Caisses de Jean-Jean, level 7 and 8 cliffs near Mouriès. In France, rock climbing goes by the romantic name of escalade and the Mouriès tourist office will arrange rock climbing lessons and outings for less experienced visitors. Monday to Friday outings in the Baux Valley last from 9 am to 7 pm and cost euro 54, including equipment and lunch. Groups of up to eight people, as young as nine years of age, can be accommodated. Book through the Mouriès tourist office.
