Could not be more different. Hidden away, it’s a quiet secret behind the façades of several simple fishermen’s cottages. Individually decorated rooms – only two or three per floor – have private terraces tucked into the corners under a jumble of red tiled roofs. Views are of the bay or of the evergreen slopes of the Citadelle. The pretty blue room, with its terrace between the Citadelle and the church, was apparently Romy Schneider’s favorite. Staying here is a bit like staying in the private home of a very indulgent relative. The small adjoining beach has famous associations with the Brigitte Bardot/Vadim film, And God Created Woman.
