In Fréjus, is a like staying in a friend’s very well-kept guest room. The two rooms can be booked separately or as a pair with a shared bathroom between them. Lest you’re worried that this sounds a little shabby, I should point out that the bathroom has a chandelier – as does the little kitchen where your breakfast is served. An added bonus is that the owner, Nicole Arboireau, is a well-known gardener and gardening book author. You can sign up for her gardening classes or just come to enjoy her splendid cottage garden and her homemade jams. Because the garden is not at its best in the hottest weather, the house is closed to guests from July 15 to September 15.
