Because cycling is so popular in France, tourist information offices in every town can supply maps and local route advice. This itinerary covers a particularly scenic and historic area: Thirty miles, rolling terrain, moderate difficulty. Mountain or road bikes. A fit cyclist can easily do this circuit in a day, but there is more than enough to stop, see and admire for a two- or three-day itinerary, with overnight stops in Uzès, Collias or Vers Pont du Gard. This is a departmental Balisage cycle trail. Watch for white and green arrow-shaped signs that mark the trail. You can find them in all the village centers. Start at Vers Pont-du-Gard. Before you go, visit the 12th-century village walls, the three ancient dry stone lavoires or wash houses and the Château St. Privat.
