Lorch

Lorch, a small town active in viniculture since at least 1085, marks the end of the Rheingau. The town became rich from the off-loading of ships, but unlike Rüdesheim, tourism never penetrated to the same extent. Lorch was a favored town among nobles as the size of some of the medieval and half-timbered buildings testifies. At Lorch, the Wisper flows into the Rhine – a beautiful winding route for cyclists and drivers runs up the narrow Wisper Valley. It is a particularly nice way to return to Wiesbaden via thick forests and pristine nature.
