Puerto del Rosario
Puerto del Rosario
The capital of Fuerteventura is relatively unexceptional architecturally or otherwise and, save for its role as a commercial and port city, of little interest to most visitors. Should you wish to go shopping, though, Puerto del Rosario is certainly most accommodating. The buildings and streets of Puerto del Rosario date mostly from 1835 onward, the year in which it was established as the island’s capital. The oldest area of town, which has numerous terrace bars and restaurants, is around the street of Primo de Mayo and the Plaza de la Paz.
