One of the first things Barrick Gaming did when it purchased the 94-year-old Las Vegas Club in 2004 was drop the "Las." Since becoming the Vegas Club, things have gotten a lot swankier at this downtown property, starting with the new logo, reminiscent of a retro-modern sports-jersey. That's appropriate, given what the Vegas Club hasn't changed: a sports-themed casino. The 50,000-square-foot gaming area has over 700 slots and a host of table games, but its marquee attraction is its sports book, whose innovations include setting lines for every NFL game throughout the season. The Great Moments Room serves casual dining at cafe prices. The hotel has more than 400 rooms and suites, with many of its amenities - pool, salon, etc. - provided by its neighboring sister property, the Plaza hotel and casino.
