Cycle tours differ dramatically between companies. While most include a shuttle service to the starting point, a bilingual guide, all equipment and lunch, some try to offer a smaller and more personal experience. I joined Dominick of Best Tuscan Bike Tours on his one-day accompanied tour up to Fiesole. An expat who gave up his career in Wall Street to offer these tours, Dominick’s aim is to tax your legs, improve your cycling style and ensure you leave with a better understanding of the Tuscan way of life. The tour includes a traditional lunch in a well-hidden family restaurant and talks on wine and olive oil production (with opportunity to buy). In addition to the Fiesole tour, Dominick also offers guided road bike tours for the more advanced cyclist.
