It serves in abundance the traditional foods – roasted meats, trippa alla Fiorentina and a great range of grandmother-made desserts – that no longer exist at this price in central Florence. There’s no English menu and no English is spoken, but just point at something on the daily specials and you can’t go wrong. From Florence, head south through Bagno a Ripoli on the SS222 toward Grassina.
