Strictly counter service or take out, Alon`s offers, along with its seasonal breads (such as challah for Passover), interesting sandwiches which elsewhere would be called merely Yuppie. They also prepare traditional desserts like Napoleons, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake and cappuccino torte. This branch of Alon`s, though newer than the Virginia-Highland location, is clearly the flagship of owner Alon Balshan`s remarkable operation. If you go to Alon`s Terrace, you`ll find a quick service bakery that dishes up an American fare an emphasis on sandwiches. Expect to pay under $8 per person.
