Kingman
Kingman, located close to the northwestern corner of the state, just 40 miles south of Grand Canyon West, is also on the historic Route 66, at the intersection of Interstate 40, and is dubbed the “Heart of Historic Route 66.” Here you can search out the Route 66 Museum and the Powerhouse Visitor Center, with displays centered around the historic route. The town itself is historic, to be sure, with no fewer than 60 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, many of which can be seen on the town’s walking tour. Additionally, the town’s Mohave Museum of History and Arts is a good place to get a glimpse of the area’s past.
